Set up cloud station client software#
Once you set it up on one of the company's NAS boxes, any computer running the client software can connect. Synology's service functions largely work like a Dropbox clone, except you get to run both the server and the client. But it's a neat product that, in many ways, provides a Dropbox clone while keeping the security-as well as any fees-in your own hands. Cloud Station is a bit of a misnomer in the sense that it really isn't a true cloud service.
We're partial to Synology devices here because of the sophistication of its software, and the company has been offering a service called Cloud Station. On top of that, you're also relying on cloud services to keep things like your password and data secure.Īre there better options?
